Salary: At appointment the actual salary will be £14,243 - £15,398 depending on qualifications and experience (Maximum job rate potential is £16,554, which is performance related)
Break Charity has a tremendous record for providing a nurturing, stable home environment for Looked After Children and supporting them through to adulthood. We are pleased to announce an exciting, though challenging opportunity to join one of Break’s children’s homes as Deputy Manager in March, Cambridgeshire. The home opened mid 2017 and is a small two-bedded, but specialist provision for young people with complex emotional and behavioral difficulties who will be cared for by experienced and well trained staff using therapeutic approaches with tailor-made care packages meeting young people’s specific needs.
The ideal candidate:
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a professional, therapeutic, caring and calm approach, able to think creatively, act as a positive role model, and have a track record of motivating others to strive for excellence. They must be able to demonstrate resilience, emotional warmth and an extensive understanding of working with complex emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Previous experience of working in this sector in a senior capacity is essential. The ideal candidate should hold or be working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent. The ability to work some shift patterns and be flexible with the working hours in order to meet the home’s needs, which could include the occasional sleep-in duty (£34.27 paid per sleep-in).
