The Breckland YAB has recently commissioned MAP, who worked with Nicholas Hammond Academy and BBC Voices, to produce a film to explore young people's thoughts about sexual health and relationships. This was to see if we could raise more awareness of how it affects young people and the need for more support and information on this topic.
I have noticed in the past year an increase in teenage pregnancy amongst young people I work with. There is also a need for young people to gain understanding and support, about the emotional aspects of a positive relationship. In the new school year we will be meeting with professionals from a variety of backgrounds to see how we can work on this agenda together.
If you would like to be involved or have any experience or contacts in this area, please get in touch. Otherwise please use this film to raise the conversation with young people and see what they think. The film is on the Breckland YAB section of The Benjamin Foundation website.
The programme supports youth activities which will be allocated under three seperate schemes; training bursaries, transport fund and equipment fund. Funds are availbe to individduals, voluntary and community groups, charities and other constituted youth providers in the Breckland area. Grants are up to a maximum of £250 per person or £500 per group.
