Findings from the Great Yarmouth YAB Youth Consultation February - April 2016

Great Yarmouth YAB Opportunities Fund, being administered by the Norfolk Community Foundation. 

The grant is re-launched after the enormous success of the young person's grant scheme last year, with a tighter focus on the following issues and priorities; 
* Improved mental health and well-being (this could include increased confidence and esteem)
* Improved physical health
* Reduced drug and alcohol use
* Increased employability 

Young people aged 11-19 / up to 25 with any form of disability, from low income families can apply for  grants of up to £300.00 to help support the cost of activities which will have an impact in one or more of the priority areas listed above. The Fund is also open to youth groups and clubs who can apply for a grant of up to £500.00 which will provide bursary type support to cover the cost for individual young people to access their activities who are prevented to do so due to financial barriers. 

Full details are included on the Norfolk Community Foundations website  Applications will be assessed by trained young commissioners on a rolling basis.
