Project Worker, Norfolk & Waveney ASD/ADHD Support Service

Family ActionHours: 10 hours per week term time only

Location: Gorleston, Great Yarmouth

Salary: Grade 1 (upper): £17,381 - £19,278 per annum pro rata

We are looking to recruit a project worker to support the delivery of the Norfolk & Waveney ASD/ADHD support service, which is now being delivered across Norfolk. The team in Gorleston continue to offer support to families whose children are waiting for an assessment by the NHS Neurodevelopmental teams or have recently been diagnosed. The service provides practical and emotional support to parents/carers in the form of coffee mornings/parents support groups, information sessions, courses (currently the Cygnet programme and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) course) and individual support via telephone or home visits.

This temporary post provides an exciting opportunity for someone who is keen to be involved in supporting children with ASD/ADHD and their families. You will have a good knowledge of ASD/ADHD, experience of working or volunteering in a group or community setting. You will have excellent IT skills and be willing to provide reception and administrative support as directed by the Project Co-ordinator. You will be required to support the Project Co-ordinator and the Family Support workers to set up and facilitate support groups and information workshops for parents/carers. To co-facilitate courses including the 3 week Positive Behaviour (PBS) courses. To provide administrative support as required by the needs of the service and to organise holiday activities for families if required.
