Living Well Worker

About the Role

Equal Lives is a leading human rights organisation working for the rights of disabled people to lead fully independent lives. You will need to have some experience of working in the advice and advocacy sector, in services providing support to people who may have physical, mental health or learning disabilities.

Although the post will be based at our office in Framingham Pigot, travel across Norfolk will be required therefore access to a vehicle for business use is needed.

Health and social care professionals in Norwich and Broadland have been provided with referral routes to a team of Living Well Workers who are trained advisers. Living Well Workers work with the individual to fully understand their needs, provide advice, and also refer the person to community resources, groups and activities. This ensures:

  • a holistic approach to the person’s needs to help them improve their health and wellbeing
  • people can be helped at the earliest opportunity with most of their social welfare needs (e.g. debt, welfare benefits, housing, family and relationship issues) at the first possible stage
  • every point of contact with the person ensures maximum impact

About You

You will need to have strong and proven experience of working in the advice and advocacy sector, with a track record of providing support to people who may have physical, mental health or learning disabilities. You will work within a close-knit and supportive team.
