Family Network Briefing


Course Aim

This course aims to:

The course will look at the importance of Family Networks for children and young people who are looked after.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session participants will have: 

  • Understand why children who have suffered trauma and/or loss need the support of a lifelong natural network
  • Understand the importance for children and young people of belonging to a Family Network
  • Understand how Family Networks link to Signs of Safety
  • Have an opportunity to understand what a Family Network is and any questions you may have

Target Staff

This workshop is for multi-agency staff and is relevant for all practitioners and managers who are involved in child protection work and wish to know more about the importance of family network finding.
