Day 1) Theoretical learning: Legislation, back care and posture, risk assessment, safe principles of moving and handling (people and inanimate loads)
Day 2) Practical: Moving and Assisting People Safely, using a wide range of current moving and handling equipment available for all client groups and care environments (handling belts, wheelchairs and commodes, mechanical standaids, hoists (standing, fixed overhead, gantry), profiling and Vendlet bed system)
Day 3) Teaching and Assessing: learning styles, group dynamics, lesson planning, assessing competence, documentation and recording.
