Essential for all new staff, this considers how we interact with our service users in a professional and personable way. The practitioners will be asked to consider the messages they give to the young people and adults they work with through verbal and non-verbal messages. There will be a focus on understanding the need for boundaries and the dangers of an unboundaried workforce. The course considers a number of real life case studies to challenge perceptions and cultural practices. The course will consider team and organisational cultures that promote professionalism and transparency and the shared responsibility to report inappropriate practice.
