Course Objectives
Understanding what safeguarding is and your role in safeguarding adults
The 10 categories of abuse and recognise signs and indicators
Recognising an adult potentially in need of safeguarding and how to take action
The procedures for making a safeguarding alert
Your role in relation to Duty of Care, Duty of Confidentiality, dignity and respect when working with individuals
Gaining knowledge of policy, procedures and legislation that supports safeguarding adults, including Mental Capacity Act & Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
The role of the Disclosure and Barring Service within Safeguarding
The referral process and the role of the NSAB and MASH within Norfolk
