Do you have access or links to engage inactive young people aged 11 - 25 in sport and physical activity? If so, we would like to work with you!
Sportivate is a £56 million Lottery funded London 2012 legacy project that gives young people the opportunity to find a sport that they enjoy. With delivery starting from April onwards we have funding available to support youth charities, organisations and groups in setting up sport / physical activity sessions for young people. A programme should last 6 weeks and can either focus on one or a number of different activities. The young people attending the sessions must be aged 11-25 and in the main (at least 70%) be considered as being inactive (taking part in 0 - 3 x 30 minute sessions of sport / physical activity in the previous 28 days leading up to the project - outside of curriculum PE / Sport).
We are keen to support projects that target under-represented demographics including female, disabled or low socio-economic groups.
If you would like to apply for funding please get in touch with George Webster to express your interest. He can then either forward the application form to you to fill out or look to set up a meeting to help design a tailored project to meet the needs of the young people that you are looking to engage. Follow up support will then be offered including identifying and recruiting workforce to deliver sessions and booking a host venue (if required). The amount of funding available will depend on the number of young people that you will look to engage through an identified project.
If you have any questions in relation to Sportivate or applying for funding please get in touch.
