Connecting with the Community: New Project for Young People

Our member group EPIC Norfolk has been awarded a grant through the Social Enterprise Support Fund. Part of this grant is to provide young people between 18-25 with the opportunity to connect with their local community and improve the environment. EPIC is now looking for young people to connect with and offer sessions to.

These sessions would be led by an instructor, who would meet the group of young people and lead them on a walk to a community project to do some active volunteering tasks. These tasks can vary from digging at a community garden, litter picking on public pathways, painting at a community centre, maintaining local parks and more. The session would conclude with the instructor leading the group on the walk back. The overall session time would be around 90 minutes.

The project will improve the employability opportunities for young people, connect them with their local community, educate them and increase their activity levels.

Initially the project will take place in Norwich and the surrounding areas, with the possibility of other areas of Norfolk too.
