We have a wide variety of courses, which are intended to develop the skills and knowledge of staff and volunteers working with children and young people. All our courses are available to members and non-members. Our members, however, enjoy a substantial discount off the cost.
We have reviewed our training offer believe that we need to focus on our Youth Work Training. We have a progression of courses that will help you to gain the skills and knowledge needed when working with young people. This training includes the Level 2 and 3 in Youth Work Practice.
We wish to highlight the expertise of our member groups and the training that they provide, which should further help with your professional development. These courses include Safeguarding training and specific issues that impact on young people. We have been able to negotiate a reduction for our members on most of these. The table below indicates the costs of some of our training courses such as Essential and Basic First Aid, DBS Evidence Checking and Introduction to Youth Work. Please check individual course pages for more information as some of our courses require additional charges.

Following a review of our services, and in preparation for the proposed cuts in our funding, we have had to increase the cost of our training for both members and non-members. Our aim is to continue to provide good quality, accessible training that meets the needs of the voluntary and community sector at an affordable cost.
Your place on a course is only booked when we have received a correctly completed booking form and have confirmed your place with you. Bookings are always taken on a first come first served basis; we cannot reserve spaces for multiple delegates without completed booking forms. So please do book in advance to avoid disappointment.
We would welcome your feedback and suggestions about how we can improve our training offer. Please email us your comments.
Invoices will be sent to delegates two weeks before the start date of the course, along with your confirmation letter. Once the confirmation letter has been sent, your place is booked and you are liable for the full course fee, whether or not you attend.
In the event that you are unable to attend our course due to illness (or other unforeseeable emergency), you will need to contact us to let us know and we will require written confirmation from your manager that you were unable to attend. In these circumstances we will do our best to transfer your place onto a course at a later date. If this is not possible then the training fee will be waived / refunded.
Non-attendance on courses that are advertised currently as free will result in a cancellation charge.
