This course is fully compliant with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981 for first aiders in small to medium low risk work places. It provides 6 hours of training in a relaxed atmosphere that is designed to promote confidence and give greater knowledge in life-saving first aid and dealing with minor injuries.
The syllabus includes treatment for Adults and children on the following subjects: Health and safety (first aid) regulations, Managing an incident, The priorities of first aid, Treatment of an unconscious casualty, Resuscitation (adults and children), Safe use of an Automatic External Defibrillator, Shock, Choking, Seizures, Bleeding and Common workplace injuries.
A certificate that is valid for a period of three years is issued to students who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard. Chris is a current serving member of Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, with 22 years of Front line experience. Although the courses are based on serious subjects, he is approachable and professional, with a flexibility that allows him to tailor the course to suit the requirements of the delegates.
It is ideal for people requiring Emergency First Aid at Work status, usually in small to medium low risk workplaces, or for adult leaders who assist your group on Summer camps or outdoors activities.
