How do you ensure your play equipment is safe?

Do you know how to inspect your play area equipment? Playground managers have a moral responsibility to make sure the play area equipment is safe.

On this course, you will learn how to carry out safety checks and record them so that you can demonstrate your commitment to maintaining safe opportunities for children to play creatively.

The course includes a practical assessment of a local facility. You will also receive template documents and all the latest good practice guidance.

Learning Outcomes

  • understand the difference between a regular visual inspection, routine quarterly inspection and yearly maintenance inspection
  • know what to look for during a routine visual inspection, how to record it and understand the risk assessment process
  • awareness of the range of health and safety regulations which impact on the inspection process
