Introduction to Youth Work

Your work on this course can contribute to the portfolio required to achieve Level 2 Award in Youth Work Practice.

This course aims to help you feel more confident in your work with young people. You will have the opportunity to explore roles, boundaries and attitudes and will gain skills and tools that will help you in your work with young people.

  • To ensure that workers understand the values and principles that underpin youth work
  • To ensure that workers feel more confident in their work with young people.
  • To enable workers to explore roles, boundaries and attitudes.
  • To equip workers with some engagement tools and skills.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will:      

  • Understand what youth work is and what a youth worker does
  • Explore personal and professional boundaries
  • Gain understanding of their role in relation to others, along with policy and procedure
  • Identify good practice and sources of support
